SK «Tandem» at the «Novichok» Jiu-Jitsu Tournament in Yekaterinburg

On May 24, 2026, the «Novichok» jiu-jitsu tournament was held in Yekaterinburg at the Rodina sports and wellness complex. About 200 athletes from cities of the Sverdlovsk region and Tyumen took part. The event brought together novices and competitors who are only beginning their competitive journey; competition was strong, with up to 12 athletes in some categories. SK «Tandem» (Polevskoy, official SUMA International / ISUMA representative) entered a team of 11 athletes coached by Nikolai Viktorovich Sofronov. Every team member performed with distinction on the mats. SK «Tandem», official SUMA representative — results: • Elena Mokhireva — 1st place (fighting), 1st place (ne-waza) • Yesenia Istomina — 1st place (fighting), 1st place (ne-waza) • Karolina Mishina — 1st place (fighting), 2nd place (ne-waza) • Mikhail Vokhmyakov — 1st place (ne-waza), 3rd place (fighting) • Vasilisa Frolova — 2nd place • Nikita Ayupov — 2nd place • Vladimir Lukyanov — 3rd place Vsevolod Ivankin, Khusan Zhurayev, Leonid Karlykhanov, and Lev Krutikov also competed; in tough brackets they did not reach the semifinals, yet each gained valuable experience. Young referees worked under the guidance of experienced officials. Kirill Salikhov represented SK «Tandem», an official SUMA representative, as a referee and received the Jiu-Jitsu Federation diploma for «Best Referee».
